On October 28, 60 workers at the Hilton Garden Inn in Toledo, Ohio joined UFCW Local 75. The new members are employed as housekeepers, front desk staff, and laundry workers. They joined our union via a card check election because they were seeking better wages, job protections, holiday pay, retirement security, and fair treatment for all workers.
Several years ago, UFCW Local 75 were able to secure neutrality language with the Lucas County Commissioners during the property’s redevelopment. This agreement allowed them to move ahead with building a committee, securing majority union support, and conducting a card check quickly without employer interference.
