On Feb. 16, over 28,000 members of UFCW Locals 328, 371, 919, 1445, and 1459 who work at 225 Stop & Shop stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island ratified new contracts that strengthen wages and benefits.

The four-year contracts were ratified by all five locals with an overwhelming majority of member support and will go into effect on March 1, 2026. In addition to annual wage increases, the contracts maintain industry-leading health insurance and pension benefits, and provide opportunities for career growth and advancement for UFCW members.

“These agreements reflect the strength and unity of Stop & Shop union workers who stood together to secure a contract that addresses their priorities,” said the UFCW New England Council in a joint statement. “Through collective bargaining, our members improved wage increases and protected their strong health and pension benefits that working families rely on. When workers have a fair contract, it strengthens the stores they run every day and supports the customers and communities they proudly serve.”
