The UFCW is encouraging locals to get involved with the UFCW Charity Foundation’s new national March of Dimes partnership.

March of Dimes is a long-standing ally of the labor movement. Their work to ensure that all mothers and babies have the healthiest possible start in life is a natural extension of our own fight to protect and uplift working families. Their mission has never been more urgent as our country faces a maternal and infant health crisis that takes the lives of two pregnant women every day and two babies every hour.
A March of Dimes Partnership Toolkit is available here. This toolkit includes information about this organization’s work, how locals can get involved, and specific ways to engage our members.
One of the ways you can get involved is by participating in the March of Dimes campaign to highlight the real-life impact of Medicaid and the devastating consequences of proposed cuts under the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” Medicaid covers 42 percent of all births in the U.S., providing essential care for millions of working class women and children. Even as we fight for strong union contracts that provide quality health benefits, we know not everyone has access to the care they need. If you know of a member who could be impacted by Medicaid cuts, please encourage them to share their story here.
