Help us highlight pay disparities on 2SLGBTQ+ Equal Pay Awareness Day, which takes place on Tuesday, June 17.

The U.S. Census Bureau does not currently collect the necessary information to provide specific data about pay disparities affecting the 2SLGBTQ+ community. However, according to research from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, 2SLGBTQ+ workers make approximately 90 cents for every dollar earned by the typical worker in the U.S. Women in the 2SLGBTQ+ community make only 87 cents for every dollar the typical worker earns.
“Equality and equity for our 2SLGBTQ+ members needs to also include inclusive health care, including gender affirming care, and safe workplaces free of harassment,” said UFCW OUTreach Chair Michele Kessler. “UFCW OUTreach has resources for negotiators to assist in building stronger, more inclusive contracts at www.ufcwoutreach.org.”
Remember that achieving equal pay requires collective effort. By showing support for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, we can work toward a more equitable future for all. Please join us as we continue to stand up for equal pay on June 17!
