Workers at the Silver Stem Fine Cannabis dispensary in Littleton, Colo., recently voted to join the UFCW Local 7. This 19-person unit is the first dispensary in the Denver metro area to unionize with UFCW Local 7.
These workers voted to join our union family because they wanted a voice in the workplace and the better wages and benefits that come with a union contract. The campaign to organize these workers included working hand in hand with the International’s cannabis team to show the benefits of the union to all the workers and bring this win home.
“I am so proud of what me and my co-workers were able to achieve,” said Dax Stevens, who works at Silver Stem Fine Cannabis in Littleton. “Today’s victory shows the power that cannabis workers have when we stand and fight together. We take great pride in making our dispensary a welcoming and informative environment for our customers. Our passion for the industry and our expertise are valuable assets and we’re confident this will be recognized by our company.”
“This is only the beginning,” Stevens added. “Together, we look forward to having a voice on the job by bargaining for a strong contract with the pay and benefits we deserve.”
