On Oct. 12, the UFCW issued a statement in support of CVS and Walgreens pharmacy staff who are standing together for better working conditions.
“We support all of the hard-working pharmacy staff who have decided to take a stand by walking out and fighting for a better life at work,” said UFCW International President Marc Perrone in a statement. “By standing together, workers are showing Walgreens and CVS that they will not sit by as these corporations continue to fail them.”
“The UFCW represents thousands of CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid workers, including pharmacy staff, who work hard to keep their stores running every day,” Perrone added. “We have seen the toll that the pandemic took on our members as they risked their lives daily to ensure the safety and well-being of communities across the nation. Their contributions cannot be forgotten. We applaud all pharmacy workers and support their right to make their voices heard and join a union.”
