The UFCW Minority Coalition will hold their educational conference on Friday, November 7, and annual ball on November 8, at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, D.C. The educational conference includes a forum titled “Discussion on Race and Inequality,” and is a response to the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and the role labor has in fighting systemic and institutionalized racism. The discussion will focus on combating racism, empowering communities of color, and offering tools for how to respond to situations like Ferguson. The annual ball will honor RWDSU President Stuart Appelbaum as the Minority Coalition’s “Person of the Year.”
Registration and ticket information for the conference and ball can be found here.
