Members of UFCW Local 1991-P who work at Buropro in the city of Drummondville in Quebec, Canada, recently ratified their first contract. Buropro is an office supply company and these members are employed as cashiers, warehouse clerks, sales advisors, and in shipping and receiving.

The three-year contract provides a 4 percent annual wage increase, improvements to the group insurance plan – including a 50/50 cost-sharing arrangement in 2028, and an increase to flexible time off. Members will now be covered by the UFCW dental plan, fully paid for by the employer.
The contract also improves vacation benefits based on years of service. After 15 years, workers can receive four or five weeks of vacation with an 8 percent or 10 percent vacation pay. After 25 years, they can receive five or six weeks of vacation with 10 percent vacation pay. Existing benefits have been maintained and are now formally included in the agreement.
“This first agreement is an important milestone for members working at Buropro,” said President of UFCW Local 1991-P Janick Vallières. “They now have a clear, union-negotiated contract that sets out their working conditions and protections. This reflects their hard work and determination since joining the union.”
