Over 30 members of UFCW Local 152 who work at Sysco in Egg Harbor City, N.J., ratified a new contract on Oct. 26. Sysco is a foodservice company and these workers are employed primarily as delivery drivers.

Through hard bargaining, the new four-year contract provides Sysco members with the highest wage increases ever negotiated with this employer. Additionally, the negotiating committee was able to raise the 401(k) match percentage, offering our members an opportunity to save more for retirement.
Because most of these members work as drivers and don’t usually work together, the new contract establishes a “Joint Labor-Management Committee,” consisting of bargaining unit members, a union representative, and management. This committee will meet regularly to discuss items of concern, offering workers a formal opportunity to have their voices heard.
