About 50 workers at the Acme Fresh Market store in Medina, Ohio, recently joined UFCW Local 880.
The workers joined UFCW Local 880 because they wanted better wages and benefits and job protection. The campaign to organize these workers included participation in new hire orientations to talk about the benefits of joining our union.
“We commend these Acme workers for their decision to organize and join Local 880,” said UFCW Local 880 President Miles Anderson. “They understood that solidarity brings strength, engaged with our union organizers to learn about their rights and took the important step of securing union representation. We look forward to fighting for them as part of our union family.”
UFCW Local 880 represents Acme Fresh Market workers in other locations in Ohio, as well as grocery workers at Dave’s Markets, Fishers Foods, Giant Eagle, Heinen’s, Meijer, and Sparkle Markets.
