Help us draw attention to pay disparities on Latina Equal Pay Day, which takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

While Latinas play a critical role in America’s workforce, their wages continue to lag significantly behind those of their white male counterparts. Latinas working full-time, year-round are paid 58 cents and all earners (including part-time and seasonal) are paid 54 cents for every dollar paid to non-Hispanic white men.
As one of the fastest-growing populations in the country, Latinas play a vital role in America’s workforce. Yet, pay inequity continues to hurt their families, communities, and futures. This wage gap has serious consequences, especially for Latinas who are heads of the household—making it harder to afford housing, health care, education and other essentials.
The UFCW is proud to partner with the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) to raise awareness and push for equal pay. A social media toolkit for Latina Equal Pay Day is available from the LCLAA here. Additional information about Latina Equal Pay Day is available here.
