In a continued effort to strengthen and expand training opportunities across our union, the UFCW has launched a new Education and Staff Development Department at the International.
This newly formed department is dedicated to supporting local union staff, officers, and members through a wide range of initiatives, including steward training, new staff onboarding, and leadership development programs.
To kick things off, UFCW International President Milton Jones recently reached out to all local presidents and regional directors, encouraging them to share a brief summary of their current training or education programs; input on what’s missing or needed; challenges they’re facing in delivering training; and suggestions about how the International can better support local training efforts.
The Education and Staff Development Department is working closely with all divisions, directors and locals, as well as external organizations, to build a dynamic and effective resource. For more information, or to get involved, contact educationdept@ufcw.org.
