Over 8,000 members of UFCW Local 700 who work at 68 Kroger stores in Central Indiana ratified a new contract on August 20. This ratification follows months of negotiations during which members rejected two previous offers.

The three-year contract includes the following provisions:
- Retroactive pay dating back to June 1.
- Increases top pay $2.75 over the term of the agreement.
- Creates a new pay bracket for Senior Utility Clerks.
- Raises premium pay.
- Protects quality, affordable health care for members and their families.
- No increases to weekly co-premiums over the life of the agreement.
- Adds full health care coverage for spouses.
- Adds lifesaving coverage for transplant procedures.
- Increases short-term disability pay.
- Improves language for daily claiming to maximize hours.
“By sticking together in solidarity, our members were able to secure a contract that not only raises their pay, but also protects health benefits and more,” said UFCW Local 700 President Tracy Bartak. “This is a huge win for all our members in Central Indiana locations.”
