On March 28, the UFCW released a statement in response to President Trump’s executive order to end collective bargaining with a number of federal unions.

“Collective bargaining is a fundamental right that ensures workers have safe workplaces, a voice on the job, and the ability to provide for their families,” said UFCW International President Marc Perrone in a statement. “This executive order undermines those rights for hundreds of thousands of federal workers who have dedicated their careers to serving the American people.”
“Weakening collective bargaining does not just hurt federal workers—it sets a dangerous and chilling precedent for all workers,” Perrone added. “At a time when too many families are struggling to make ends meet, we should be strengthening worker protections, not taking them away. The UFCW offers its full support for federal workers and their right to negotiate contracts that protect them on the job.”
