On Feb. 11, nearly 600 members of UFCW Local 152 who work at Dietz and Watson in Philadelphia ratified a new contract. These members work in production and shipping, helping to make the Dietz and Watson products found in most union retail stores, including hotdogs, deli meats, cheeses, snacks, condiments, and more.

The four-year contract includes immediate wage increase for all members, as well as annual increases for the duration of the agreement. Furthermore, members can expect a one-time longevity increase based on years of service, starting at five years of service. Shift differentials were also substantially increased for second and third-shift workers.
Through hard bargaining, the committee maintained reasonable contributions to our members’ health care. The 401(k) contributions were improved, with more senior members receiving a higher contribution to recognize their dedication. Finally, earned time off was increased, providing these hard-working members with a better work-life balance.
