Members of UFCW Local 152 who are employed as custodial workers by Environmental Service Concepts and work at the Tanger Outlets site in Atlantic City, N.J., ratified a new contract on Feb. 15.
The three-year contract includes immediate wage increases for all members, followed by large annual increases for the life of the contract. To aid in the retirement savings for members, the employer agreed to increase the savings plan contribution rate each year for the contract’s duration. The contract also maintains the 100 percent employer-paid health care benefit and includes an increase for the annual shoe allowance.
In addition, the contract provides new members with the opportunity to have a union orientation to learn about the union difference. A union representative or shop steward will now have a designated time to meet with new members and provide information about the benefits of their contract, what union representation means, and the many benefits and discounts available to them as members of the UFCW.
