On Oct. 17, 59 maintenance workers at 14 Village Supermarket locations in New Jersey joined UFCW Local 1262 for a better life. The workers were granted recognition by way of card check and joined their fellow store workers who were already under union representation.
The workers joined our union because they sought better wages, benefits, and a pension plan.
“Local 1262 welcomes the new Village maintenance workers in solidarity to the benefits and security of union membership,” said UFCW Local 1262 President Harvey Whille.
