Pharmacy technicians at a Safeway store in Alamosa, Colo., recently joined UFCW Local 7 for the better wages and benefits that come with a union contract.

The three pharmacy technicians joined UFCW Local 7 because they were concerned about unfair treatment and favoritism, and wanted the same wage increases and benefits as their unionized colleagues at the store.
“It’s simple, I voted for better benefits, higher wages and stronger job protection,” said Laticia Martinez, who is a pharmacy technician at the Alamosa store.
UFCW Local 7 represents over 130 pharmacy technicians at Safeway and Albertsons stores in Colorado.
