UFCW Applauds Nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to U.S. Supreme Court

On Feb. 25, the UFCW applauded President Biden’s nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, one of our nation’s brightest legal leaders, to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is exceptionally qualified with both the strong experience on the federal bench and the solid integrity needed to serve on our nation’s highest court,” said UFCW International President Marc Perrone in a statement.

“As a public defender, she has a proven track record of fighting for fairness in our justice system. After enduring two years of a global pandemic that upended their lives, working Americans need a Supreme Court that protects their rights and the issues they care about,” Perrone added. “We are confident that Judge Jackson will be a voice for these working Americans, especially essential workers. The UFCW applauds this historic nomination and calls on the Senate to swiftly move forward to confirm Judge Jackson as the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court.”
