Workers at Woodland Hills Compounding Pharmacy in Woodland Hills, Calif., recently joined UFCW Local 770 to strengthen their voice in the workplace. This organizing victory is a result of one of the workers reaching out about joining our union through the UFCW International’s website.
The 11 workers, who are employed as customer service representatives, pharmacy technicians, and in the shipping, mail and marketing departments, joined our union family because they were concerned about treatment at work and wanted the better wages and benefits that come with a union contract. Woodland Hills Compounding Pharmacy specializes in the formulation of drugs that are not commercially available and uses state of the art technology to prepare customized medications.
“We are finally going to have a stronger voice at work,” said the new members of UFCW Local 770.
“We’re proud to welcome Woodland Hills Compounding Pharmacy workers to our union family,” said UFCW Local 770 President John Grant. “In unity, there is strength, and we look forward to negotiating a first contract that includes the wages and benefits these workers have earned and deserve.”
