Local 1776 Celebrates Expansion of Hershey Plant in Pennsylvania

On March 9, UFCW Local 1776 President Wendell Young IV took part in a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of a UFCW-represented Hershey plant, which will bring in over 100 new members, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Members of UFCW Local 1776 produce Kit Kat bars and other Hershey products at the plant, and the $60 million project will add a new Kit Kat manufacturing line.

UFCW Local 1776 Secretary-Treasurer Michele Kessler, Todd Tillemans, president of Hershey’s U.S. business, leaders from the Hazleton plant, UFCW Local 1776 Hershey members, and local and state politicians participated in the ceremony.
