The UFCW’s new “how to” video features Maia Dubar, a produce clerk at Stop & Shop in Connecticut and a member of UFCW Local 919, who shows you how to cut, peel, and prep avocados for cooking or serving.

This video is part of a series of “how to” tips from UFCW members who are experts in their fields. In addition to Maia’s tips about avocados, the series features expert advice from a UFCW prep cook, cake decorator, makeup artist, florist and butcher.

On May 2, the UFCW joined the National Association of Letter Carriers, U.S. Postal Service, AFL-CIO, National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, and United Way to kick off the 25^th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive at the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C.

“From the food processing and packing facilities to your local grocery store, UFCW members help to keep America’s families fed with safe and nutritious food,” said UFCW International President Marc Perrone, who was one of the featured speakers at the event. “Unfortunately, our jobs also allow us to see countless customers we serve struggle to put food on their tables. The America we believe in, that I know you believe in, is one where no family or person should go hungry. This food drive truly supports America’s hard-working families, and we are so proud to be a part of it.”
