On Sept. 1, members of UFCW Local 367 met with Senator Patty Murray (D-Wash.) in Tacoma, Wash., to discuss the importance of paid sick leave, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and raising a family on one income. The Local 367 members work at Macy’s and Fred Meyer.
Their highly personal stories shed light on the struggles working families face in today’s economy. Senator Murray came out of the meetings with a stronger understanding about how she can make the lives of hard-working men and women better.
