Twin City Tanning Workers Join Local 431

Twin City Tanning Workers

On May 9, Twin City Tanning workers in Waterloo, Iowa, voted 39-1 to join UFCW Local 431.

The workers had no idea how many hours they would be working on a given day and wanted respect on the job and consistent scheduling. The workers also wanted an affordable health insurance plan, paid time off and raises.

“After so many years waiting for better pay and benefits, and respect for all of us at Twin City Tanning, finally we have a union,” said Larry Gaines, who has worked at Twin City Tanning for eight years. “That’s why we never gave up!”
