On Monday, the people of Iowa will go to the caucuses to choose which candidate they want to become the next President of the United States. Twenty-one UFCW members have been working hard all across the Hawkeye state to help Hillary Clinton win the Iowa Caucus and move forward to other nominating contests with momentum.
Whether it’s going into workplaces to speak with fellow members about the issues that matter most to them, registering members so they’re ready to vote, canvassing neighborhoods to explain the unique caucus system so that people are prepared or attending rallies together in gold shirts – UFCW lost timers and members in Iowa are having a major impact.
Thanks, in part, to these great efforts from UFCW members in Iowa, the issues we care most about, such as securing higher wages, better jobs, stable schedules and retirement security, have become top concerns to multiple Presidential candidates. As the race continues, this impact will only increase.
The Iowa Caucus is just the beginning. In the coming weeks and months, we are looking forward to UFCW members in other primary states engaging and shaping this election around the issues that our families care most about.
