On Monday, OUR Walmart leaders and UFCW organizers from locals across the country were joined by nearly 80 community alliance partners from the local, civil rights, and faith communities as well as advocates from environmental groups, women’s groups, and worker groups including unions like AFSCME, AFT, and Teamsters. The group reviewed OUR Walmart’s accomplishments to date, and OUR Walmart laid out its goals for the year. Alliance partners strategized on how they could hold Walmart accountable through their respective work, and made a commitment to support Our Walmart workers’ efforts with a goal of capitalizing on the wage victory to make a bigger impact this year.
