Last month, police officers in Takoma Park, Md., unanimously ratified a strong new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The contract achieves important gains that have long been priorities for the 25 members, who are represented by UFCW Local 400.

Wins include:
- Pension modifications increasing the multiplier and reducing the years of service required
- Yearly cost of living adjustments
- Increased number of personal days
- Increased clothing allowance
- Increased wage premium for shift differential
“I want to congratulate the Takoma Park police officers on winning their new collective bargaining agreement,” said UFCW Local 400 President Mark P. Federici. “Thanks to their activism and solidarity, they achieved important advances that will improve their lives, working conditions, and retirement security. The officers and the people of Takoma Park they serve and protect will be the better for it.”
