On April 6, workers at the Fox in the Snow Café Commissary in Columbus, Ohio, voted unanimously to join UFCW Local 1059 for a better life. This organizing win marks the second Fox in the Snow Café location to join UFCW Local 1059, which also represents café workers in Westerville.
The approximately 17 workers, who produce baked goods and sandwiches for distribution to the five Fox in the Snow Café locations in the greater Columbus area, joined our union looking for retirement options and safer working conditions.
The campaign to organize these workers included weekly meetings highlighting the benefits of unionizing. Workers from the café in Westerville also shared information about the better wages and benefits that come with a union contract.
“We are excited to join our union co-workers from the Westerville location and hope all Fox in the Snow workers in Columbus will join us, as well!” said the workers in a joint statement.
