School might be out for summer, but members can keep the learning going with two benefit programs; free language classes and a scholarship opportunity for UFCW Minority Coalition members.
The UFCW’s Free Foreign Language Program, which offers UFCW members the ability to learn over 70 languages for free online, opened for registration on June 18. These self-paced classes build on four conversational skills necessary to fully learn a new language: vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and culture.

Spots will be available to UFCW members on a first-come, first-served basis. You can access the application form here. Graphics to promote this program to members can be found here.
Donald L. Cash Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Registration for the UFCW Minority Coalition’s Donald L. Cash Sr. Memorial Scholarship opened on June 19. This scholarship program provides financial assistance for post-secondary education to members of the UFCW Minority Coalition, UFCW Staff, spouses or dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations). UFCW Minority Coalition Officers and Executive Board members are excluded from applying. All eligible applicants must submit a completed and signed application to the UFCW Minority Coalition by the August 1 deadline. The application to the Minority Coalition’s Donald L. Cash Sr. Memorial Scholarship is available here.
