On April 29, workers at Amica Mutual Pavillion (AMP) in Providence, R.I., cast ballots in an RC election and chose overwhelmingly to unionize. The 67 new members work as ushers and ticket takers at the sports and entertainment arena and expect to start contact negotiations in the coming months.

“We asked the company for a wage increase, they didn’t take us seriously, so we came together and formed a union. Now they must take us seriously,” said AMP worker Tim Storti.
Local 328 staffers credit their organizing win at AMP to their ability to answer worker questions about the process. This is the first group of ushers the Local has organized.
