About 90 workers at Irpinia Kitchens in the city of Richmond Hill in Ontario, Canada, recently voted to unionize with UFCW Local 175. Irpinia Kitchens is a high-end cabinet manufacturer and the workers are employed in all aspects of production, including panel processing, shipping and receiving, sanding, assembly, spraying, and as specialists, maintenance, and quality control professionals.

These workers joined UFCW Local 175 because they were concerned about job security, seniority, wages, benefits and favoritism, and wanted a strong and stable future.
“An overwhelming majority of workers at Irpinia Kitchens made it clear that they need a dedicated support system to fight for what they deserve,” said UFCW Local 175 President Kelly Tosato. “This is a strong group of workers and now, as members of Local 175, they can unite with a collective voice with the power to create positive change. I am looking forward to all they will accomplish!”
