Over 1,300 delegates from local unions across the U.S. and Canada, as well as alternates and overseas guests, attended the UFCW’s 8th Regular Convention in Las Vegas on April 23 to 26. The convention was organized around four key pillars – “Unity, Family, Community, and Worth” – and featured exciting guest speakers ranging from elected officials to civil rights leaders, as well as interesting workshops and panels.
The convention was an opportunity for attendees from a diverse range of industries and backgrounds to connect and collaborate with each other, and share experiences and best practices.
“I’ve been in the union 43 years and been to a number of conventions, so this is always a great opportunity to network with other UFCW locals and connect with familiar faces,” said Richard Jannsen, UFCW Local 1262.
“I have been to convention before, but this is my first time as a delegate. I always enjoy listening to the speakers,” said Laura Edwards, UFCW Local 770.
“Unity is one of the most important things to keep us strong. Together we aspire, together we achieve,” said Sterling Lewis, UFCW Local 1S.
