RWDSU and UNI Global Union Call for Change at Zara: Sign the Petition to Support Zara USA Workers

RWDSU

change zaraThe RWDSU/UFCW and UNI Global Union are calling on Inditex, a multinational fashion retailer that owns Zara, to support workers in the US as well as globally. Inditex signed an international framework agreement with global union federation UNI in 2009 committing itself to respecting workers’ rights across the globe. In many countries, workers at Zara and other Inditex brands enjoy fair treatment and have their right to unionize respected.

However, in the United States, it’s a different story. Many Zara workers here report that they are subject to poverty schedules, a lack of advancement opportunities for people of color, and low wages. In fact, Zara workers state that New York City management has capped their hours at 25 per week in order to avoid providing them with healthcare coverage. Further, Zara USA refuses to engage with its employees collectively about their working condition concerns.

You can support Zara workers by calling on Inditex to implement in the United States the global agreement it has signed and committed to.
