Members of RWDSU/UFCW Local 379 who work at the Autoneum facility in Toledo, Ohio, ratified a new contract on Jan. 7. Autoneum develops and produces lightweight and multifunctional components and systems for noise and heat protection for almost all automobile manufacturers across the world.
The three-year contract includes large wage increases and bonuses, along with improved non-economic and vacation language and no increases for company health care. The contract also includes the addition of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday, an early payout twice a year for vacation time, and reduced time for vacation accrual.
Additionally, the company will now provide cold weather gear for employees when they have to perform outside work, and apprentices will receive pay for training while in the classroom.
