Members of UFCW Local 1776KS who work at the Schott North America, Inc. facility in Duryea, Pa., recently ratified a new contract that raises wages and protects benefits. Schott is one of the leading specialty glass companies in the world and the workers at the Schott North America facility are employed as machine operators, material handlers, batch house production operators and general helpers.
The three-year contract includes general wage increases and maintains health insurance benefits. The contract also improves vacation status and includes updated non-discrimination language.
“Our top priority has always been, and will always be, to win strong contracts for our members,” said UFCW 1776 President Wendell W. Young IV. “I am very proud of our team at the local and for the hard work and commitment of our members at Schott North America.”
