This Memorial Day, RWDSU members and other worker activists distributed leaflets outside of Macy’s Herald Square, the retail chain’s flagship location, to remind customers doing their Memorial Day sales shopping that Local 1-S members are “the real magic of Macy’s.” Besides giving Macy’s workers the recognition they deserve for making shopping at Macy’s a premier experience, the flyers also informed customers that workers are trying to secure a fair contract with management.
Macy’s workers have authorized a strike if a fair contract isn’t negotiated.
